Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulphate) Soaks can be extremely
helpful for many muscular conditions and are often recommended.

Amongst many other functions Magnesium helps

  • keep heartbeat steady
  • regulate blood sugar levels
  • maintain proper blood pressure
  • nerve and muscle function
  • bind serotonin (mood-enhancing factor in the brain) which
results in a feeling of wellbeing.

Similarly Sulphates are required amongst other things for

  • joint health
  • digestive processes
  • connections in brain processes

An Epsom salt soak

  • helps to reduce swelling / pain of muscle strain
  • relaxes
  • can be mood-elevating

Soaking in a warm (not hot) bath containing 1 - 2 cups of Epsom Salts
once or twice a week can be an excellent aid to easing aches and
pains.   If you do this last thing before going to bed you may have a
better night’s sleep.

Feet / hands / elbows can be soaked in a bucket of warm water
containing a cup of Epsom Salts if bathing is a problem.

Googling for “ Epsom Salts Soaks”  brings up lots of information.

N.B.  Raised blood pressure contra-indicates soaking in Epsom Salts.

Epsom Salts can be bought in some pharmacies, garden shops and
animal feed suppliers, where they may be cheaper.  Ring to check for
availability before setting off to buy them.  If you have difficulty
locating them, please contact me.
